Our Story

Welcome to harbourcheeseboards. We have been making cheese/serving boards since 2016 here in Sydney. The boards are handcrafted, handmade by myself from recycled timber and coated in a food safe mineral oil.

The business started up with two good mates selling golf balls to a local golf shop and from there we came up with an idea to use our skills to create a niche market.  We decided that we were over people paying too much for mass produced cheese boards.

We brought our first stock of Sydney Harbour Bridge Scaffolding, made of 1946 Canadian Recycled oregon back in 2016.  From this initial 20 metres we created stunning and unique boards. In 2017, there was a partnership split between the two of us as our lives were headed in separate directions and will remain good mates for years to come.  My passion for recycled timber and harbourcheeseboards was still very evident.

Over the past few years I have expanded the recycled timber available to include historical areas of Sydney harbour beyond the original harbour bridge scaffolding, including beams from the structure of famous landmarks such as Cockatoo island warehouse, Walsh Bay wharves and the old wool storage. The boards are seen to be unique cheese board/grazing platter with an extensive history. I have been at markets around Sydney selling my cheese boards as I enjoy the face to face customer relationship. I am looking forward to expanding my business and broadening my customer reach to enable more customers across Australia to purchase handmade, handcrafted boards with a story to be told.

My foundation of the company was to use recycled timber over manufactured timber as it is saving the world one cheeseboard at a time.
